About
Hi, my name is Lucy and after recently deciding to finish my career in Social Work, I have finally followed my passion of years and moved into fitness.
From my teenage years I always really struggled with my weight and just never felt happy with my size. It took several years to get into fitness and start enjoying it but once I was its been something that I have now managed to build into my day to day life and more importantly something I love.
Being a mum of two young kids and keeping myself fit and healthy has always been a bit of a balancing act. What I now want to do is help other mums, woman, men and young people become fit, enjoy fitness and most importantly feel good, inside and out.
And the beauty of this- you don't need to belong to a gym!!
No gym memberships and no struggle to get your children cared for whilst you try and squeeze in a quick half hour here or there.
I want to take the stress out of exercise and make exercise fun and accessible. I can come to you, train in your local park, your garden and can offer 1:1 or group sessions.
PERSONAL TRAINING
Mon-Fri 9:30-15:00, (other hours available on request.)
1 hour sessions- £40, blocks of 10- £350. Pairs can train together and split the cost.
GROUP TRAINING
HIIT/Circuit classes run every Thursday, 12-1pm, which at present are via zoom, working really well for those working from home. I am also now running a Monday evening class, 7:30-8:15 at Banstead Park. All levels and abilities welcome. Fun class for all.
Mon class is £6.50 and Thursday class is £8.50.
Services
1:1/GROUP SESSIONS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
My passion for fitness is great and my passion for supporting and working with young people is something I wanted to link together with this.
I truly believe fitness should start when you're young, it should not be competitive at all times and should be enjoyable for all individuals. I therefore wanted to offer 1:1 and group sessions for young people, which concentrate on having fun and getting fit. These sessions are all based around circuit training, using equipment young people are already using and find fun but also giving a focus on healthy eating and healthy living.
BUSINESSES
I offer lunch time HIIT classes where I come to your office and can run a 30min, 45 min or 1 hr HIT/Circuit class. These have been really popular as giving staff the ability to train within their working day really helps improve focus, concentration and total well being at work.
SCHOOLS
I also offer school sessions-which can be within the school day, as part of PE, or as lunch time or after school clubs. This again is based around a fun circuit training session. It is not about being the best or winning, it is about enjoying exercise and getting into fitness.
In 2017 the government published a paper "Childhood Obesity: a plan for action". This was about combatting childhood obesity, as nearly 1/3 of 2-15 year olds are overweight or obese. Physical activity is a very important part of this and not only does it reduce weight gain and obesity but also improves muscle and bone strength and quality of sleep, which is also linked to improved academic performance.
However, long term sustainability will only be achieved with active engagement of schools, communities, families and individuals and this is why I am hoping more and more schools will look at this as a very interesting opportunity.
